Job summary

K&L Gates is seeking a Market Development Manager to lead marketing and business development initiatives across multiple offices, including Charlotte, Chicago, New York and beyond. The role requires collaboration with practice groups and partners to direct BD activities and improve market visibility.

Responsibilities include budgeting, event planning, RFP support, and media opportunities, with dotted line reporting to local leadership and a focus on client development and strategic growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum of seven years of marketing, business development and/or sales experience in a professional services firm or closely related work environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the global marketplace for professional services.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
• MBA or similar graduate-level degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Co-develop and implement practice- or office-centric business development strategies with leadership.
• Develop annual marketing and business development budgets with practice leadership.
• Collaborate with lawyers to execute business development activities and plans.
• Prepare RFPs, write proposals and create presentations for new business.
• Manage business development process and pipeline for the office or practice.
• Plan seminars, conferences and firm-sponsored events and lead follow-up.
