Job summary

Anduril Industries in California is seeking a mechanical/structural engineer to lead the structural and thermal analysis for a maritime autonomous vehicle. You will report to the Structures Lead and own analyses across the full design envelope to meet buoyancy, strength, and endurance targets.

This role requires 5+ years in structural design for marine, aerospace, or robotic systems, proficiency with Nastran/ANSYS/Abaqus, and the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in structural design and analysis for marine, aerospace, or robotic systems.
• Proficiency with analysis tools (Nastran, ANSYS, Abaqus, etc).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Own structural mechanical and thermal analysis for the vehicle.
• Perform structural analysis: FEA, hand calculations and buckling.
• Verify structural interfaces with propulsion, buoyancy, energy, and payload systems.
• Drive trade studies balancing strength, weight, corrosion, and cost.
• Support prototype builds and structural test campaigns.
• Contribute to design reviews (PDR, CDR) and documentation.
• Travel up to 25% to test sites and manufacturing facilities.
