Job summary

Anduril Industries in California seeks a Mechanical/Structural lead for the Body subsystem of a maritime autonomous vehicle. You will own hull structure, propulsion, buoyancy, and actuation design from concept to production, setting architecture and interfacing with other vehicle leads.

You will drive trade studies, manage budgets and schedules, mentor engineers, and ensure manufacturability with Production. Travel up to 25% to test sites and customer locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in mechanical or structural design for marine/aerospace/robotic systems.
• Experience taking designs from concept to production.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own the Body subsystem architecture: structure, propulsion, buoyancy, actuation, and mechanical interoperability.
• Drive structural analysis and design of hull and primary structure for full-ocean-depth operation.
• Drive propulsion system design including thrusters, fairings, and hydrodynamic optimization.
• Own buoyancy and trim system design, passive and active.
