Job summary

Honda is seeking a Marine Test Sr Engineer II to apply advanced knowledge of mechanical/electrical/marine systems in a demanding engineering environment. You will perform research, analyze data, and coordinate with product planning to shape new marine product specifications.

Responsibilities include testing navigation, camera, stabilization, propulsion, and steering systems, as well as leading rigging tests and coordinating with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine)
• At least 5 years engineering experience, preferably in marine industry
• Ability to work with minimal supervision on moderately complex projects
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical, and application knowledge

Responsibilities

• Perform research activities and produce thorough analysis and summary reports with limited supervision
• Utilize data sources to understand customer, market, and economic trends that impact marine industry stakeholders
• Coordinate with product planning to identify market opportunities and gather customer feedback to inform new product specifications and market requirements
• Install, test, analyze, summarize, and report regarding various marine technology systems, including navigation, camera, boat stabilization, propulsion, steering or other ADAS systems
• Test leadership of rigging component development; create schedules, plan testing activities, communicate with suppliers, coordinate with project team, summarize and present results
• Manage testing of large outboard engines, coordinating with Japan teams, creating test schedules, boat prep, data collection, test methods, analysis and reporting
