Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Marine Structural Engineer to lead complex port, marine, waterfront, and coastal resiliency projects in the U.S. and Canada. The role blends technical leadership with business development to grow the Marine and Coastal Resiliency practice.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive constructible designs while advancing professional engagement in the industry. Flexible remote work may be available based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 8+ years of progressive project-based experience in marine structural or waterfront engineering.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior marine structural technical resource on port, marine, waterfront, and coastal resiliency projects.
• Lead structural analysis and design for waterfront and marine infrastructure such as piers, wharves, bulkheads, docks, seawalls, marinas, ferry terminals, and fender systems.
• Perform berthing and mooring analyses and develop design solutions for mooring systems and related structures.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, technical reports, design packages, plans, and specifications for concrete, steel, and timber elements.
• Act as project engineer or deputy design manager on select projects, supporting integrated delivery across disciplines.
• Support teams in resolving technical and logistical challenges and contribute to risk identification and mitigation.
