Job summary

Storable is hiring a Senior Quality Engineer for our Marine software platform. You will apply hands-on QA, test automation, API validation, and AI-assisted tools to improve speed, coverage, and product quality.

The role collaborates with product, design, and engineering to ensure reliable maritime workflows and data integrity. The job emphasizes on-site work at our Seattle, WA office, with a focus on test strategy, automation, and mentoring junior engineers to raise the overall quality bar

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering experience.
• Strong test strategy, exploratory testing, regression planning, release readiness, defect investigation, and risk-based validation skills.
• Experience building or maintaining automated tests using at least one modern test automation framework.
• Experience validating APIs, integrations, application data, and business-critical workflows.
• Ability to use SQL to investigate data issues, validate expected behavior, and support defect analysis.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Agile SDLC to deliver incremental customer and business value while advancing product quality within a scrum team.
• Clarify requirements with Product Owners, Engineers, and QA teammates to shape testable user stories.
• Own and influence test strategy across manual and automated testing, API validation, database validation, and release readiness.
• Build and maintain API automation that validates service behavior and data contracts.
• Design and maintain automated tests using Cypress, Selenium, TestNG, or Cucumber/Gherkin.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to translate customer needs into validated outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers on QA practices and automation craftsmanship.
