Job summary

Storable Marine is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and usability of our Marine software platform. This hands-on role covers test automation, API and data validation, and AI-assisted tooling to boost speed and coverage.

You will partner with product, engineering, and design teams to define test strategies, validate critical workflows, and mentor other QA engineers. On-site in Seattle three days per week is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on QA or Quality Engineering experience.
• Strong test strategy, exploratory testing, regression planning and risk-based validation.
• Experience building or maintaining automated tests with modern frameworks.
• Experience validating APIs, data, and business-critical workflows.
• Ability to use SQL for data investigation and validation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment validation.
• Practical use of AI-assisted tools in QA workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor other engineers and raise quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Agile SDLC to improve product quality within a scrum team.
• Clarify requirements with product owners and engineers to shape testable stories.
• Own test strategy across manual, automated, API, and data validation.
• Develop and maintain API automation for service behavior and data contracts.
• Query and troubleshoot data using SQL to support defects.
• Collaborate with CI/CD and deployment pipelines to validate builds and releases.
• Troubleshoot failing tests, defects, and environment issues quickly.
• Identify gaps in testability and automation; help close them.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and advocate for quality early in SDLC.
