Job summary

Elliott Bay Design Group LLC (EBDG) seeks an experienced project-based marine lofting designer. You will develop complex structural designs, guide junior designers, and perform QA for the project.

The assignment runs Oct 1, 2026 through Apr 2027 with potential for permanency based on project needs; remote/home-office work available with travel as required. Qualified applicants bring five+ years in the maritime lofting/design field, Ship Constructor experience, AutoCAD and Rhino proficiency, and

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in the maritime industry providing lofting or design support.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ship Constructor experience in structures required.
• AutoCAD certificate or equivalent experience.
• Strong AutoCAD and Rhino skills.
• Experience with licensed engineering firms or marine-related production/transportation industries.
• Thorough understanding of marine construction materials.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate engineering concepts and develop functional structural designs of marine vessels and components.
• Produce new structural plans with little or no guidance.
• Provide design support to project team members by reviewing requirements and drafting project reports.
• Provide feedback to the project manager on progress and issues with proposed solutions.
• Develop and maintain familiarity with USCG and ABA regulations.
