Job summary

Everforth ECS is seeking a Marine AutoCAD Drafter to support engineering projects by preparing precise 2D and 3D drawings, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with federal standards and agency requirements. The role requires marine industry experience and knowledge of ship drawings; remote consideration is possible for highly qualified candidates.

Primary locations include Newport, OR; Gulfport, MS; or Newport, RI, with potential for remote work for exceptional candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience in the marine industry with understanding of ship drawings/documentation.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Strong organization of technical documentation, both hard copy and electronic.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Technical drafting and design using AutoCAD; 2D/3D drawings per specifications.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders.
• Maintain drawing files, version control, and repositories per NOAA policies.
• Incorporate field data and redlines; update as-built drawings.
• Ensure drafting procedures follow agency standards and improve workflows.
• Identify, review, and update fleet drawings and technical manuals.
• Upload finalized drawings and manuals into AODocs with correct metadata.
• Prepare status reports and support data requests; assist with large prints.
