Job summary

ABS Group in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior or above Marine/Mechanical Engineer to drive research and develop guidance for offshore machinery and systems. You will engage in evaluating design and operation of offshore platforms, focusing on safety and reliability.

The role requires seven years in energy or marine engineering, a Bachelor's in mechanical/marine engineering (MS preferred), and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • Minimum seven years relevant engineering experience in energy, shipyard, design/consulting, shipping/oil company, university, or classification society.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical/marine/engineering; MS preferred.
  • Knowledge of offshore platforms machinery and systems including carbon capture and related technologies.
  • Strong communication skills in English; ability to work with others.

Responsibilities

  • Work on offshore facilities, especially drilling and production platforms.
  • Understand offshore platform design and operation, including process systems, pipelines, and safety systems.
  • Participate in HAZOPs, risk assessments, and design reviews.
  • Develop operating plans and procedures for offshore process and injection operations.
  • Provide technical support for offshore mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory and classification requirements for offshore and marine systems.
