Job summary

ORION in Honolulu, HI, seeks a seasoned Estimator for marine construction bids. You will work with project teams to prepare estimates, takeoffs, and bid documents that support proposal success.

The role requires coordinating with suppliers, subs, and internal teams to ensure accurate cost data and timely responses. You will analyze bid documents for risk, cost, and capability, while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• This role requires a minimum of five years estimating experience in marine construction or related industries.
• Familiarity with Project Estimating, Marine Construction Materials, Procurement, Scheduling and project tracking software is preferred.
• Ability to travel, maintain a current passport, and interface with employees at all levels is expected.

Responsibilities

• Participate in bid estimation process for marine construction projects as a key PMT member.
• Investigate potential project sites with job sponsor.
• Prepare bid item listings and execute quantity surveys for cost estimates.
• Solicit quotations from suppliers/subcontractors and record data in the PMIS.
• Organize estimates, quotations, and plans for pre-bid review and discuss items with the team.
• Review bid documents for risk, cost, and capability; prepare bid documents in worksheet form.
• Plan sequencing of labor requirements and supervise man-hours and unit production.
• Maintain vendor/subcontractor files and ensure quotes meet deadlines and specs.
• Contribute to Safety and Environmental initiatives and company programs.
