Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Project Engineer 3 for the EMIT cell near BWI Airport, Maryland. The role leads manufacturing engineering activities, monitors metrics, and drives cost-saving improvement initiatives while coordinating with multiple engineering and program teams.

The position requires a BS in Engineering or STEM with at least 5 years of experience, or a MS with 3 years; US Secret clearance is required; travel up to 10% is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related STEM area; minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment; ability to obtain/maintain US Secret clearance.
• Experience leading projects/people; strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for manufacturing engineering activities for your product.
• Monitor product performance, quality, delivery, and cost; drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with process/test engineering and other shop-floor functions.
• Drive root cause corrective action and identify CI opportunities with funding support.
• Review and document non-recurring costs for startup and support readiness reviews.
• Coordinate between hardware requestors and manufacturing ops/engineering.
