Northrop Grumman seeks a Principal Manufacturing Project Engineer 3 for our EMIT cell near BWI Airport, Maryland. You will act as the primary manufacturing engineering contact, driving performance metrics, cost control, and cross-functional collaboration on complex assemblies requiring GD&T expertise.

Requirements include a BS in Engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing, project leadership experience, and the ability to obtain a US Secret clearance. US citizenship is required.

Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Operations Engineering organization is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Project Engineer 3 for the Exciter and Mission Electronics Integration and Test (EMIT) cell. This position is located at our site near BWI Airport in Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for all manufacturing engineering related activities for your product
• Monitor product performance, quality, delivery, and cost metrics; highlight detractors and gather resources to resolve them
• Collaborate closely with process/test engineering as well as multiple other functional groups supporting shop floor, program office, and customer (quality engineering, manufacturing supervision, production, operations, design engineering, program management)
• Drive root cause corrective action efforts
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities; create solutions and lobby for funding
• Review and handle product on the shop floor
• Lead communications outward from the shop floor, through yield meetings, situations reports, problem resolution charts, etc.
• Gather and document efforts for non-recurring cost for initial product startup as well as support manufacturing readiness reviews
• Coordinate between non-deliverable hardware requestor and manufacturing operations/engineering

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related STEM area and a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience or a minimum of 3 years with a MS degree.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing or leading projects and/or people.
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Fluency in MS Office software applications.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance.
• US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PCB assembly and test.
• Experience with J-STD and MIL-STD requirements, including J-STD-001, IPC-610.
• Experience with Configuration Management and Manufacturing Process Planning.

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00

• Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
• Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
• Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
