Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Principal Manufacturing Project Engineer 3 for our EMIT cell near BWI Airport, Maryland. You will act as the primary manufacturing engineering contact, driving performance metrics, cost control, and cross-functional collaboration on complex assemblies requiring GD&T expertise.

Requirements include a BS in Engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing, project leadership experience, and the ability to obtain a US Secret clearance. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related STEM field with 5+ years manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading projects or teams.
• Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance.
• US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for all manufacturing engineering activities for your product.
• Monitor product performance, quality, delivery, and cost metrics; highlight detractors and gather resources to resolve them.
• Collaborate with process/test engineering and other functional groups supporting shop floor, program office, and customer.
• Drive root cause corrective action efforts.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities; create solutions and lobby for funding.
• Review and handle product on the shop floor; lead communications from the shop floor.
