Job summary
Daimler Truck North America in Detroit, MI seeks an experienced manufacturing engineer to provide on-floor support for Detroit Axle Carrier Assembly. You will lead troubleshooting, drive PPS initiatives, and collaborate across Maintenance, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
The role emphasizes data-driven decisions and standardized work. You will develop digital tools to accelerate troubleshooting, monitor performance, and mentor frontline teams
Qualifications
- BOM, PFMEA, Control Plans, standardized work, and quality management system requirements.
- Structured problem solving and continuous improvement experience.
- Experience in cross-functional manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide manufacturing support for Detroit Axle Carrier Assembly operations and meet production targets.
- Lead troubleshooting and PPS to identify root causes and permanent solutions.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to reduce downtime.
- Develop and utilize digitalization and AI-based tools for data collection and analysis.
- Mentor line supervisors and hourly workforce to sustain standardized work and metrics.
- Drive improvements in OEE, scrap reduction, cycle-time, and process capability.
