Job summary

Veeco Instruments Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations for the IBD300 product line. The role oversees manufacturing, testing, and delivery, and partners with Product Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Service to meet commitments.

The position requires leading a high-mix/low-volume operation with a focus on safety, quality, and on-time performance. Domestic travel and cross-site collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, New Product Introduction, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive manufacturing operations leadership experience.
• Experience in bringing a new product to market in high-mix/low-volume environment.
• Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis and production quality management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the manufacturing team for the IBD300 product line, including sub-assembly, assembly, integration, test, and shipment readiness.
• Drive a safety-first culture and achievement of product line safety goals (zero incidents).
• Partner with engineering, software, supply chain, quality and planning to meet operational goals.
• Drive concurrent engineering to optimize design for manufacturability and servicing.
• Improve product line quality: in-box/out-of-box quality, first-pass yield, and containment of issues.
• Ensure on-time shipment performance above 95%.
• Develop and manage manufacturing plans, staffing, capacity, budgets, and metrics.
• Ensure ISO 9001 compliance and 6S in the manufacturing area.
