Job summary

Afton Scientific seeks an experienced Senior Facilities Maintenance Planner-Scheduler to lead maintenance planning and scheduling for a manufacturing facility. You will coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and Facilities to ensure reliable, compliant, and uninterrupted production.

Responsibilities include creating detailed maintenance plans, managing work packages, coordinating labor and parts, and driving improvements in equipment reliability and downtime reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, Industrial Technology, or related field.
• Eight+ years of maintenance planning and scheduling experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Experience planning maintenance for rotating equipment, electrical systems, instrumentation, utilities, or process equipment.
• Experience supporting major shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance projects.
• Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Understanding maintenance workflows, equipment reliability, and planning practices.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed maintenance plans for preventive, predictive, corrective, and shutdown activities.
• Convert approved work requests into executable work packages.
• Identify and coordinate labor, materials, tools, equipment, permits, and contractor resources.
• Develop and maintain weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with Operations to minimize disruptions.
• Prioritize tasks based on safety, reliability, regulatory needs, and operations.
• Lead planning for major plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and outages.
• Monitor schedules and implement recovery plans when needed.
• Manage backlogs and ensure proper prioritization of work orders.
