Job summary

Afton Chemical Corporation in Sauget, IL seeks a Sr Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance and reliability, develop strategies, manage budgets, and drive safety and asset performance.

You will supervise maintenance teams, coordinate with Operations and Engineering, steer major shutdowns and capital projects, and relentlessly pursue continuous improvement and backlog reduction. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of maintenance, reliability, or manufacturing experience in an industrial environment; including progressive leadership experience managing manufacturing teams and programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute maintenance and reliability strategies to support long-term objectives.
• Lead site’s maintenance organization including supervision, planning, and trades personnel.
• Manage maintenance budget, workforce planning, contractor strategy, MRO strategy, and capital maintenance planning.
• Oversee plant maintenance safety processes, permitting, risk assessments, audits, and compliance.
• Lead major shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance projects with scope development and budget oversight.
• Provide leadership to maintenance supervisors and technical staff to resolve issues.
• Drive reliability and continuous improvement to optimize asset performance.
• Establish and monitor maintenance and reliability performance metrics.
