Job summary

Critical Fit Recruiting is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Manager for the Hartford, CT area to oversee adhesive production operations, drive safety, quality, and productivity improvements, and lead cross-functional teams through strategic planning and budget management.

The role requires a strong background in chemical manufacturing, Lean/Six Sigma mastery, and a track record of directing multi-function teams to meet delivery and cost targets.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field; advanced degree preferred
• Proficiency with ERP systems - JDE-E1 most desirable - and Microsoft Office Suite
• Skilled in operational budget management and capital project recommendations
• 10+ years of progressive leadership in chemical manufacturing operations, including 5+ years leading multi-function teams.
• Proven expertise in chemical processes, unit operations, and process control systems
• Demonstrated success in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM application.

Responsibilities

• Deliver production targets for the site by managing adhesive manufacturing across reactor operations, chemical mixing, and process/filling.
• Lead and develop high-performing site teams across production, equipment, and maintenance with clear performance expectations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations (PSM, OSHA, ISO 9001) and embed safe work practices.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM to reduce waste and increase productivity.
• Manage operational budgets and recommend capital investments within approved limits.
• Maintain equipment reliability through preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Improve product quality by enforcing quality control procedures and supporting root cause investigations.
• Standardize work practices and KPIs to align departments and optimize information flow.
