Job summary

BIOVECTRA, now a part of Agilent, seeks a senior manufacturing leader to shape GMP production strategy for biologics and small-molecule APIs. The role requires overseeing capital projects, process improvements, and lifecycle optimization across multi-year plans.

Responsibilities include guiding technology transfer, facility modifications, and enterprise-wide initiatives while partnering with Finance and executive leadership to drive profitability and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, biotechnology, biopharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, or a comparable discipline.
• Ten years in pharmaceutical manufacturing with biologics and/or API experience.
• Experience leading complex capital projects and strategic initiatives.
• Thorough knowledge of GMP, Annex 1, ICH guidance, and regulatory expectations from FDA, EMA, and Health Canada.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and project teams.
• Guide process scale-up, technology transfer, facility modifications, and lifecycle optimization.
• Develop the 3- to 5-year manufacturing and capital plan in partnership with Finance.
• Evaluate facility expansions, outsourced manufacturing, technology transfers, and partnerships.
• Assess programs and technologies that improve quality, throughput, cost efficiency.
• Lead manufacturing initiatives and advise executives on technology options and risks.
• Lead major capital projects from concept to commissioning and qualification.
• Develop ROI, payback, and total cost of ownership models.
• Resolve complex engineering challenges and drive corporate objectives.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, biotechnology, biopharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, or a comparable discipline

Ten years in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with substantial biologics and/or API experience

Experience leading complex capital projects and strategic initiatives

Thorough knowledge of GMP, Annex 1, ICH guidance, and regulatory expectations from FDA/EMA/Health Canada
