Overview

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider to the US Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking an experienced Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join our team.

This individual will be required to plan, design, and construct manufacturing facilities and related structures. Determine facility specifications, including analysis and evaluation of location, material resources, and structural design. Resolve technical problems and recommend production improvements.

Major Position Responsibilities
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Determine parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Communicate manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
  • Confer with vendors to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts.
  • Evaluate products based on specifications and quality standards.
Basic Qualifications
  • Required Education: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years’ experience OR an equivalent combination of relevant education & experience.
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree.
  • Discipline/Major: Engineering or other engineering-related degree required.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. Design expertise. Leadership skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
