Job summary

Phoenix Tailings, located in Exeter, NH, seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to own and scale complex manufacturing processes and equipment. The role focuses on turning development technologies into robust, high-performing production systems and driving improvements in capacity, reliability, cost, quality, and safety.

The successful candidate thrives in a hands-on environment, works with incomplete information, and is motivated to build manufacturing infrastructure that does not yet exist.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Experience owning and improving complex manufacturing processes or production equipment in a hands-on environment.
• Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Experience specifying, commissioning, qualifying, and ramping manufacturing equipment from installation to stable operation.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, CAD, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical performance and continuous improvement of critical manufacturing processes, driving measurable improvements in throughput, yield, reliability, quality, safety, and cost.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of tooling, fixtures, equipment modifications, and manufacturing systems to scale production capabilities.
• Diagnose equipment and process failures, perform root-cause investigations, and implement corrective actions for long-term stability.
• Define manufacturing process requirements, operating windows, control strategies, and standards to transition technologies from development to production.
• Lead the installation, commissioning, qualification, and ramp-up of new production equipment and systems.
• Develop and execute engineering trials, process validation plans, and scale-up studies to reduce risk and establish repeatable methods.
• Use production data and process capability analysis to identify capacity constraints and prioritize improvements.
• Drive DFM decisions for new equipment and processes to improve scalability and maintenance.
• Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing engineering decisions, troubleshooting, and best practices.
• Lift up to 50 lbs; able to wear a respirator as needed.
