Job summary

L3Harris in West Palm Beach, FL seeks a Senior Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer to develop, implement and optimize assembly processes for high‑quality rocket components. You will collaborate with design, engineering, production and quality teams to improve productivity and reduce cost.

You will lead lean and Six Sigma initiatives, document processes, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards while sustaining manufacturability for new product introductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Follow complex assembly/builds to ensure proper functionality during product’s operational use.
• Identify and resolve process-related issues through root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Work with Operations Program Integrators and Assembly team to deliver complex assemblies on time.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and SOPs.
• Analyze and optimize production workflows, layouts, and equipment.
• Evaluate new technologies, tooling/fixturing, and equipment for improvements.
• Provide training and support to production staff on new processes and equipment.
• Monitor KPIs and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead continuous improvement projects using lean and Six Sigma tools.
