Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Orange, VA seeks an experienced Senior Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer to drive automation and robotics initiatives for solid rocket motor manufacturing. You will partner with manufacturing and facility teams to develop, implement, and scale automation while maintaining safety and quality.

The role requires strong project management, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearance; travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior manufacturing engineering experience; graduate degree reduces experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior manufacturing engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain custom automation and robotics systems.
• Analyze production process and workstreams to identify improvements and reduce costs.
• Design and implement manufacturing technology to optimize throughput.
• Process optimization to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
• Partner with engineers to develop work standards, time studies, and ergonomic analyses.
• Monitor process performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead automation projects from requirements to production transition.
• Collaborate with suppliers for equipment validation and testing.
