Job summary

Saab AB seeks a Senior Staff Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical leadership in developing, optimizing, and implementing manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems. Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 6 years with a Master’s, or a PhD with 3 years.
• Strong experience in manufacturing process development, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
• Ability to lead complex engineering projects from concept through implementation and production
• Proficiency with engineering documentation, data analysis, and standard manufacturing engineering tools
• Strong technical communication, presentation, influencing, and interpersonal skills
• Independent determination of appropriate engineering methods for complex assignments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions and align stakeholders with differing priorities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify needs and develop manufacturing solutions
• Develop and improve manufacturing standards, procedures, and work instructions
• Develop testing, validation, and evaluation methods for manufacturing processes
• Track project performance and manage risks to maintain progress
• Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, and structured problem solving
• Lead equipment selection, installation, qualification, and process validation activities
• Develop and optimize processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, capacity, and cost
• Lead manufacturing engineering projects from concept to production launch
• Translate technical issues into clear business impacts, risks, opportunities, and actions
• Evaluate processes and data to identify opportunities for improvements
• Provide technical leadership for manufacturing processes and projects
• Use data and metrics to drive decision making
• Identify and implement new technologies and best practices
• Communicate project status and risks to leadership and stakeholders
• Adapt communication to engineers, operators, management, and executives
• Ensure deliverables are met within timelines and requirements
