Job summary

Saab AB in the United States (Michigan) is seeking a Senior Staff Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical leadership in developing, optimizing, and implementing manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems. You will lead cross-functional initiatives from concept through production, focusing on safety, quality, cost, delivery, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 6 years with a Master’s, or a PhD with 3 years of experience.
Strong experience in manufacturing process development, optimization, troubleshooting, and CI.
Ability to lead complex projects from concept through production.
Proficiency with engineering documentation, data analysis, and standard manufacturing engineering tools.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Lead technical discussions and drive alignment among stakeholders with differing priorities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop manufacturing solutions.
Develop and improve manufacturing standards, procedures, work instructions, and engineering practices.
Develop testing, validation, and evaluation methods for new or modified processes.
Track project performance and coordinate actions to maintain progress toward objectives.
Apply Lean, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, and other structured problem-solving methods.
Lead equipment selection, installation, qualification, and process validation activities.
Develop and optimize processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, capacity, and OEE.
Translate technical issues into clear business impacts and decisions.
Use data and metrics to drive fact-based decisions and improvements.
