Job summary

Heven AeroTech in Winchester, VA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to bridge design and production, ensuring manufacturability, cost efficiency, quality, and scalability.

You will evaluate designs, optimize assembly processes, develop work instructions, and provide hands-on support on the shop floor. The role demands leadership, Lean expertise, and strong technical communication across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in a high mix, low‑volume, or complex assembly environment.
• Experience with UAS is a big plus.
• Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP/MRP systems.
• Professional working proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Not eligible for visa sponsorship; must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• New Product Introduction (NPI): liaison between engineering and production to integrate new designs into manufacturing.
• Hands‑On Assembly & Design Feedback: build prototypes and learn optimal assembly sequences.
• Work Instructions and Documentation: create step‑by‑step assembly instructions and maintain docs.
• Process Development and Optimization: design/refine manufacturing processes; lead improvement projects.
• Training and Support: train assembly leads and technicians; troubleshoot production issues.
• Quality and Continuous Improvement: drive Six Sigma/5S/PFMEA and root‑cause analysis.
• Ensure Compliance and Safety: ensure safety standards and regulatory requirements are followed.
• Tooling and Jig design involving CAD (SolidWorks) to support manufacturing.
• Other duties as assigned.
