Job summary

Abbott in Irvine seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the assigned manufacturing line, driving quality, yield, and cost improvements. You will be the line's engineering representative, collaborating with Supervisors, QA, and Operators to address opportunities and deliver sustained performance.

The role requires Lean/Six Sigma knowledge, and may involve leading Green/Black Belt projects, DMAIC and A3 investigations, with mentoring of peers and coordination across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering and/or process development experience.
• Strong verbal and written communications; ability to communicate at all levels.
• Ability to work in a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing line improvements to achieve targeted output, yield, quality, safety and cost targets.
• Apply Lean/Six Sigma to conduct root-cause analyses and drive process improvements.
• Coordinate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain and Design Assurance teams.
• Mentor peers and provide engineering fixes, tooling and manufacturing aids on the line.
• Collaborate with external vendors and internal shops; support training of line Operators.
