Job summary

Abbott in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead manufacturing operations support for the Electrophysiology medical device line. You will collaborate with line Supervisors, Quality Engineers, and Operators to improve quality, yield, safety, and cost performance.

The role requires a strong background in manufacturing engineering with Lean/Six Sigma experience, CAD/GD&T skills, and the ability to guide cross-functional teams through root-cause analysis and process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in manufacturing engineering or process development.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work in a team and as an independent contributor in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred.
• Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Experience in electrophysiology or medical devices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary engineering personnel supporting manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with line Supervisors, Quality Engineers, and Operators to address line opportunities.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement process improvements to meet output and cost targets.
• Provide engineering fixes such as tooling and manufacturing aids.
• Train line operators on updated processes and certifications.
