Job summary

Eaton’s Electrical division in Worcester, MA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to design, integrate, and improve manufacturing processes for time- and cost-efficient production while maintaining product quality across existing offerings and new product introductions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, at least three years in manufacturing engineering, and the ability to drive lean improvements, document procedures, and support new product launches on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in manufacturing, with a focus on manufacturing engineering.
• No relocation is being offered for this role. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Worcester, MA will be considered.
• Eaton will not sponsor immigration or related visa processes (CPT/OPT/STEM OPT, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure all processes meet Eaton Safety (MESH) and quality standards by supporting MESH requirements, gage R&R, capability studies, 8D, and root cause & corrective action activities to support failure analysis.
• Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
• Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
• Analyze plant workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Assist in the evaluation of Capital Appropriation Requests for new equipment and resources.
• Interface with Plant Leadership to implement short and long-term production solutions.
• Responsible for production processes associated with the launch of New Product Development.
• Document manufacturing processes with work instructions.
• Generate and implement Engineering Change Notices to enhance product quality and reduce cost.
• Take initiative to resolve problems with production and communicate effectively with operators.
