Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes across the production line. You will own the shift and collaborate with design, QA, and supply chain teams to improve productivity and quality.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, 7+ years in manufacturing, and strong Lean/Six Sigma knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality systems.
• Proficient in CAD software (NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and manufacturing ERP systems.
• Ability to balance autonomy with disciplined escalation.

Responsibilities

• Make real-time decisions within guardrails to optimize production.
• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Develop and maintain process documentation (SOPs, work instructions, process flow diagrams).
• Collaborate with design and development teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to enhance performance.
• Lead the design and procurement of tools, fixtures, and equipment.
