Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a hands‑on Senior Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for new products. You will own the shift’s overall accountability, collaborating with design, quality, and supply chain teams to improve productivity and quality across the line.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical and manufacturing engineering, GD&T, and CAD (SolidWorks/NX), with experience in high‑precision hardware and problem solving on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace, or electrical engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in manufacturing/production engineering.
• Experience with high‑precision hardware assembly and electro‑mechanical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with RCCA frameworks and Lean/Six Sigma tools.
• Strong GD&T, CAD skills (SolidWorks/NX), and drawing interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and qualify manufacturing processes for new products to meet quality and production targets.
• Lead design and procurement of tools, fixtures, and equipment for efficient production.
• Provide hands‑on support for first shift production operations.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and automated assembly issues.
• Maintain and update SOPs, work instructions, and operation sequencing.
• Collaborate with quality, safety, and production management on shift handoffs.
