Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and maintain manufacturing methods, operating sequences, and processes for sub-assemblies and final assemblies. You will work with engineering to release product improvements, estimate costs, and drive lean improvements to cost and quality.

The role requires strong data-driven problem solving, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and experience with cost reduction and process optimization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4–7 years of experience required.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills on the job.

Responsibilities

  • Develop operation sequences and processes for sub-assemblies and final assemblies; may design fixtures and suggest layout improvements.
  • Coordinate product improvements with engineering; issue ECOs to support new and existing products.
  • Identify root causes during assembly/test and implement corrective actions.
  • Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and recommend tooling/process changes to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with test engineering on fixtures and testing; become proficient in troubleshooting tests.
  • Collect and analyze data to support problem solving and drive data-driven solutions.
  • Support supplier quality efforts through supplier interactions and audits.
