Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and optimize production processes. You will own the shift’s manufacturing performance, partner with design, QA, and supply chain, and drive improvements across the line.

You will lead tooling design, process qualification, and RCCA initiatives, ensuring safe, high‑quality, cost‑effective production for complex hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 7+ years in manufacturing or production engineering.
• 7+ years in high‑precision hardware assembly environments.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting of electro‑mechanical equipment and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and qualify manufacturing processes for new products to meet quality, cost, and production targets.
• Lead the design and procurement of tools, fixtures, and equipment for efficient production.
• Provide hands‑on process engineering support for first shift operations.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and automated assembly issues.
• Maintain and update SOPs, work instructions, and operation sequencing.
• Collaborate with quality, safety, and production management on handoffs and improvements.
• Lead RCCA actions for quality non‑conformances and bottlenecks.
• Drive process optimization to improve safety, yield, cycle time, and cost efficiency.
