Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and optimize production processes. You will own the shift, collaborate with design, production, QA, and supply chain teams, and lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to boost productivity and quality across the line.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering and 7+ years in manufacturing engineering, CAD proficiency (NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD), and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years in manufacturing/production engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Proficient in CAD software (NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Make real-time decisions within guardrails; escalate when outside limits.
  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to cut costs and boost efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation (work instructions, SOPs, flow diagrams).
  • Collaborate with design and development teams for manufacturability of new products.
  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve production performance.
  • Lead design and procurement of tools, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to optimize methods and labor use.
  • Support continuous improvement and share best practices across the facility.
  • Ensure safety compliance and adherence to standards.
  • Evaluate new technologies and automation to enhance capabilities.
