Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems LLC seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for high-precision hardware. You will own the magnet production shift, collaborating with design, quality, safety, and supply chain teams to drive productivity and quality.

Responsibilities include developing processes, tooling, and equipment, supporting first shift operations, and leading RCCA-driven improvements to yield and cycle time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Electrical or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing/production engineering.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of electro-mechanical equipment on the production floor.
• Experience with RCCA frameworks and Lean/Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and qualify manufacturing processes for new products to meet quality, cost, and production rate targets.
• Lead the design and procurement of tools, fixtures, and equipment for efficient production.
• Provide hands-on engineering support for first shift operations.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and automated assembly issues.
• Maintain and update SOPs, work instructions, and operation sequencing.
• Collaborate with quality, safety, and production management on shift handoffs and non-conformances.
• Implement RCCA for quality non-conformances and process bottlenecks.
• Lead process optimization projects to improve safety, yield, cycle time, and cost efficiency.
