Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to act as the technical lead for DFM/DFA on key programs, design and develop complex tooling, and create efficient production processes. You will mentor engineers and drive cost-reducing, quality-focused initiatives.

The role supports the Mission Solutions and Technologies business area, with heavy emphasis on cross-disciplinary collaboration, production ramp, and lifecycle management from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in leading DFM/DFA workshops for complex systems.
• Proven experience managing the manufacturing engineering deliverables for a complete product lifecycle, from concept to production ramp.
• Expert proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software and process documentation.
• Extensive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Function as the Technical Lead for implementation of DFM/DFA principles on critical new product introduction (NPI) programs to ensure designs are optimized for production.
• Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and quality standards.
• Architect the process flow and workstation layout for new production lines, ensuring optimal efficiency and ergonomics.
• Design, develop, and validate sophisticated production tooling and fixtures.
• Conduct in-depth root cause analysis and implement robust corrective actions.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers on best practices and technical skills.
• Drive and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
