Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in San Jose, CA to drive DFMA excellence across the NPI lifecycle, focusing on server and rack-level systems during EVT and DVT. You will collaborate with Hardware Design, Thermal, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to ensure products are manufacturable, yield-optimized and ready for high-volume deployment.

The role involves leading EVT/DVT DFMA reviews, teardown analysis, root-cause with 8D, and managing MRP/BOM/ECO data.

Qualifications

BS/MS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
8+ years of hands-on server system manufacturing experience.
Proven DFMA expertise leading reviews to optimize yield.
Experience guiding products through EVT and DVT in NPI.
Experience with rack-level liquid cooling integration (Manifolds, CDUs, Quick Disconnects).
Knowledge of liquid-loop controls (torque management, blind-mate verification).

Responsibilities

Lead EVT/DVT DFMA reviews to optimize server chassis and rack routing.
Disassemble prototypes and analyze to drive design improvements.
Drive root-cause analysis for assembly defects and implement 8D.
Navigate MRP, BOM, and ECO systems to extract part specifications and records.
Generate DFMA reports and publish findings with photos.
Maintain DFMA records and collaborate with IT to optimize tracking database.
Collaborate with Thermal R&D, Quality, and Suppliers for mass production transition.
Evaluate cable and hose management for mass production readiness.
