Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation in Sparks, NV seeks a Manufacturing Engineer II to influence manufacturability of products using DFM/DFA, tooling design, and process engineering. You will develop and optimize production systems to ensure high-quality, efficient manufacturing from the start.

Responsibilities include creating work instructions, collaborating with design and quality teams, and applying Lean and Six Sigma to drive improvements across production lines and facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Proficiency with CAD software and process documentation.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed work instructions and process documentation.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
• Collaborate with design and quality teams to ensure product designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards.
• Design and implement production tooling and fixtures.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement projects.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, including production flow, workstation layout, and material handling.
