Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer in Cincinnati, Ohio to support strategic programs ensuring U.S. Armed Forces readiness.

You will contribute as part of a project design team, developing production processes, layouts, and procedures for mechanical, electronic, and electro-mechanical assemblies. The role involves leading set-up and validation of new production lines, improving efficiency, first pass yield, and scrap rates, and training personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 9+ years of related experience, or 7+ years with a graduate degree.
• 8+ years in fabrication or assembly of close tolerance mechanical, electronic, or electro-mechanical parts.
• 10+ years proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering design documents and develop methods, processes, tools, jigs, fixtures to fabricate the specified product.
• Develop work instructions, control plans, PFMEAs, and process validation plans.
• Lead the set-up and validation of new production lines.
• Analyze production problems and implement corrective actions involving designs, materials, and processes.
• Provide technical expertise and support related to manufacturing.
• Incorporate new methods to improve existing operations.
• Review product designs for manufacturability and completeness.
• Train production personnel in new or existing operations.
• Interface with equipment vendors and specify equipment via SOQs.
• Prepare capital equipment requests.
• Design layout of equipment and workspaces.
• Prepare reports and white papers on manufacturing performance.
• Conduct capacity analyses, capability studies, and GR&R studies.
• Participate in Failure Review Board investigations.
• Prepare tooling cost and labor estimates for proposals.
