Job summary

Medtronic in Brooklyn Center, MN is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join the MECC team, supporting rechargeable, pacing and diagnostic battery manufacturing. You will design processes, layouts and control plans, drive process improvements, and ensure compliance with FDA, cGMP and ISO standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a BS with 4+ years of relevant experience and strong problem-solving, communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR PhD with 0 years relevant experience.
• Experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Work experience with FDA Quality System Regulations, cGMP, ISO 13485, ISO 9001 or equivalent.
• US degree recognition per 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) for foreign-earned degrees.

Responsibilities

• Design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
• Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
• Design sequence of operations and specify procedures for fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
• Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
• May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
• Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigate and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
• Develop manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control and related techniques.
• Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
• Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
