Job summary

The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor based in Southern California, is seeking a senior Manufacturing Engineer with strong Mil-DoD and aerospace manufacturing background. The role emphasizes mechanical and electro-mechanical components, with a focus on manufacturing planning, BOM creation, tooling, and process optimization.

Ideal candidates will have 7–10 years of experience, proficiency with ERP systems and GD&T, plus experience reading complex drawings and interfacing with supply

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering.
• 7-10 years of Manufacturing Engineering/configuration management experience.
• ERP system experience.
• MIL-STD documents, reading and interpretation of GD&T and ASME Y14.5, Mil-Std-973.
• Manufacturing Planning for product realization.
• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques: casting, machining, sheet metal, finishing, assembly, PCBA, wiring.
• Materials processing knowledge including Heat Treatment and Coatings for aerospace requirements.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical and electromechanical drawings.
• Interface with supply chain.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Microsoft products proficiency.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Detail-oriented and professional.
• Willing to lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Break down Mil-DoD and customer engineering requirements per drawing to create manufacturing planning, BOMs and tooling.
• Liaise with manufacturing to improve processes and reduce time/cost.
• Ensure quality, integrity and certifications in products produced.
• Provide assembler training and develop support materials as required.
• Review and approve controlled documents (work instructions, specs, procedures).
• Ensure documentation complies with Quality System requirements and MRB activities.
• Support development of manufacturing documentation (BOMs, drawings, specs, routing sheets).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, engineering, materials, quality and vendors.
• Provide design engineering support for mechanical engineers, CAD drafting and tolerancing.
