Job description

Join to apply for the Senior Manufacturing Engineer role at Albany International Corp.

• Develop and apply composite materials and manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements in a fully documented, production-ready process. Select materials, create and maintain BOMs, identify Key Product Characteristics (KPCs), and ensure compliance throughout the product value chain. Design, qualify, and implement tools, fixtures, and equipment for textiles, preforms, or composite parts.
• Collaborate with the program team to meet technical customer requirements within schedule and budget. Support project meetings, provide guidance, and assist other engineering resources.
• Maintain configuration control for engineering, including change management, qualification, and approval. Investigate defects or process failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Define production readiness criteria and qualify processes, procedures, and tooling for transition to production. Ensure compliance with Quality System Procedures and supplier performance standards.
• Identify and implement process improvements, assessing costs and benefits, and communicate changes effectively.
• Provide project updates and technical communications to internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor and lead within the engineering team, supporting organizational process improvements.
• Assist in new business development by preparing proposals and supporting quotations, updating them as project scope changes.

Job Requirements

• US Citizens or US Persons (permanent residents) only; no visa sponsorship available.
• BSc in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Manufacturing preferred).
• 5-10+ years in manufacturing/process engineering, preferably in aerospace composites or textiles.
• Knowledge of raw materials, manufacturing methods, quality control, and cost optimization.
• Experience in composite structures, materials, and processes is desirable.
• Familiarity with product development, engineering change, document control, and quality systems.
• Experience with process control tools like root cause analysis, SPC, and process qualification.
