Job summary

Brooks Instrument, based at the company headquarters in Hatfield, Pennsylvania, seeks a Senior Plant Cost Accountant to partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering and Finance. The role focuses on accurate product costing, inventory analysis and variance reporting to support management decisions.

The successful candidate will combine accounting and analytical skills with practical manufacturing knowledge, reporting to the Finance Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field required.
• Two to three years cost accounting experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with standard costing, inventory valuation, and month-end close is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inventory activity and work with Operations to resolve issues.
• Reconcile inventory and cost-related GL accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Analyze manufacturing variances such as purchase price, usage, and scrap.
• Develop and maintain inventory dashboards, reports and financial models.
• Support capital expenditure requests and internal/external audits.
