Job summary

Verdesian Life Sciences is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to partner with manufacturing and operations. You will own standard costing, inventory and variance analysis, and month-end close, delivering timely analyses to influence plant decisions.

You will collaborate with Finance Operations, Controller, and Operations leadership to strengthen cost controls, forecasting, and profitability insights while leading process improvements and complex analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting or finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in cost/accounting for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day cost accounting activities supporting manufacturing and operations.
• Lead standard costs for manufactured products, raw materials, labor, and overhead.
• Analyze variances and provide actionable recommendations.
• Lead month-end close activities and reconciliations.
• Ensure GAAP-compliant inventory and COGS transactions.
• Coordinate physical inventory counts and reconcile variances.
• Present financial results to Operations and leadership.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and outlook processes for plant expenses.
• Maintain and improve cost accounting models and tools.
• Lead process improvements strengthening controls and data quality.
