Job summary

Achieve Life Sciences is seeking a Senior Manager, Cost Accounting to own cost accounting, inventory valuation, and close processes. You will partner with Finance, Operations, CMC, and Supply Chain to inform costing, pricing, and profitability decisions for a growing biotech company.

The role emphasizes standard costing methodologies, ERP configuration (Dynamics GP preferred), and internal controls under US GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; 7+ years progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and inventory accounting.
• ERP cost accounting configuration experience; Dynamics GP preferred.
• Advanced Excel for financial modeling, data analysis, and forecasting.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented, and able to manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Cost Accounting & Inventory Management: own standard costing, updates, rate development, inventory valuation, and variance analysis across materials and finished goods.
• Own Financial Close & Reporting: manage month‑end/quarter-end close, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and cost/margin reporting.
• Strengthen Financial Controls & Compliance: maintain internal controls, policies, and SOX alignment; support audits.
• Drive Business Insights & Cross-Functional Partnership: collaborate with Operations, CMC, Supply Chain, and FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and cost reviews.
• Own Cost Accounting Systems & Process Improvement: maintain ERP configurations, drive automation, improve costing methodologies and close efficiency.
• Develop Operational Cost Metrics: build KPI dashboards on manufacturing efficiency, scrap, yield, overhead absorption, and cost drivers.
