Tandem Foods in Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead complex accounting areas across a three-site manufacturing network, ensuring GAAP-compliant reporting and ledger integrity within an established ERP framework.

The role reports to the Corporate Controller and offers cross-functional exposure, strong technical ownership, and a hybrid work setting. Candidates should have 7–12 years of accounting experience, manufacturing exposure, and CPA preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 7–12 years of progressive accounting experience.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Experience in manufacturing or inventory-intensive environments preferred.
• Experience supporting financial statement audits and technical accounting matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
• Own complex accounting areas including inventory, accruals, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare monthly financial statement packages for Corporate Controller review.
• Ensure general ledger accuracy across multiple entities and sites.
• Support debt covenant calculations and reporting requirements.
• Maintain strong internal controls across all accounting cycles.
• Prepare audit-ready documentation and liaise with external auditors.
• Support working capital reporting through inventory, accruals, payables, and receivables accounting.
• Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen close and documentation.
