Job summary

Ranpak in Ohio seeks a senior accounting professional to lead monthly and quarterly closes, ensure US GAAP compliance, and support SEC reporting with accurate financial data.

You will partner with cross‑functional teams, mentor staff, and help implement robust accounting policies and controls in a manufacturing environment.

CPA preferred; minimum five years in public company manufacturing accounting; strong Excel and SAP/HFM experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a public company manufacturing sector.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and strong organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software applications. SAP and HFM highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Manages the monthly and quarterly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate results.
• Reviews and reconciles general ledger accounts, ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with accounting principles.
• Prepares financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and provide detailed analysis of variances.
• Prepares and files quarterly and annual tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Supports external audit engagements by providing documentation and explanations of financial transactions and supporting schedules.
• Develops and maintains accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provides guidance and support to accounting staff, assisting with training and development as needed.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and process improvements.
• Performs other accounting duties as assigned.
