Job summary

Halvik Corp in the Washington, DC area seeks an experienced Manual Software Tester to support FHWA projects such as TMAS 3.0, HPMS 9.0, PIDP, ITIP, and Fuels and FASH. The role bridges business goals and software implementations in .NET, SQL Server, and Azure cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field.
• 8+ years IT experience with 6+ years in software quality/testing.
• 5+ years manual test design; writing and managing test cases and reusable suites.
• 3+ years with Azure DevOps and Azure Test Plans.
• Experience writing descriptive, reproducible defect reports with steps and logs.
• Proficient in browser Developer Tools for front-end validation.
• Experience in manual web service and API testing.
• SQL proficiency with MS SQL Server and Oracle.
• 3+ years Agile Scrum participation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user needs and design functional requirements for testing.
• Plan tasks and manage test execution to meet sprint milestones.
• Create and maintain reusable manual test cases and suites in Azure DevOps.
• Manage end-to-end test runs with traceability to user stories.
• Log detailed defects with steps, environment, and diagnostics.
• Perform manual API and backend testing of REST services.
• Use browser dev tools to validate front-end behavior.
• Conduct functional, smoke, regression, and cross-browser testing.
• Support UAT and coordinate test environments.
• Develop testing documentation and traceability artifacts.
