Job summary

Halvik Corp is seeking an experienced Manual Software Tester to support FHWA Office of Policy. The role involves senior-level testing, analysis, and functional validation across major FHWA platforms in .NET, SQL Server, and Azure cloud environments.

You will design reusable test cases, manage end-to-end test runs, log defects in Azure DevOps, and collaborate with developers, business analysts and federal owners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field
• 8+ years IT experience with 6+ years in software quality assurance testing
• 5+ years manual test design experience writing and executing test cases
• 3+ years Azure DevOps/Azure Test Plans for managing test campaigns and bugs
• Experience with defect reporting including steps, environments and logs
• Proficiency with web diagnostics using browser tools and API testing
• SQL proficiency for backend validation (SQL Server/Oracle)
• 3+ years in Agile Scrum ceremonies
• Strong analytical, leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Analyze user needs and requirements to define functional and cross-functional test requirements
• Plan and manage test execution to meet sprint milestones
• Create, maintain and reuse manual test cases and test suites in Azure DevOps
• Lead end-to-end test activities and traceability between tests, defects and user stories
• Log detailed defect reports with steps, environment details and diagnostics
• Perform manual API and backend testing of RESTful services
• Use browser tools to inspect DOM, network payloads and HTTP responses
• Conduct functional, smoke, regression, integration, cross-browser and exploratory testing
• Validate legacy apps and upgraded cloud-native ITIP/ IT systems on Azure
